1.) Honestly, the very first thing that I thought of when I woke up it, "Today is the start of a really long week!"

2.) Tomorrow for free, I would go to Fordham University in New York City because this is one of my dream schools, especially because its in New York. However, it costs way to much money. : (

3.) Tuesday March 15, 1988 : The Halabja poison gas attack of the Iran - Iraq War begins.

4.)If I were Mr. Simpson, I would get a director of a movie, for them to explain the hardships of working hands on with a camera everyday.

5.) If the world froze for at least 30 seconds, I would have a ball! I think I would rob a bank in those 30 seconds. Hopefully I would know that the world will freeze before it does so I can be prepared. : )

About Me

Hey! My Name Is Kiara Thomas, and I am a freshmen at the Journalism and Media Academy, housed at Weaver High School. I'm such a bubbly person that it is ridiculous. Laughing is my life, and so are my many friends. I have many goals and aspirations. I am an inspiring attorney--at law. Something that I will be if it kills me. I love going to the mall, to shop for Hollister specifically. Oh yeah, my birthday is January 24th. Which would make me an Aquarius. I highly believe in Astrology, and that people act the way that they do because of their zodiac sign. However, in my opinion, I have the best sign :)That's all I can think about for now. iAdios!

The Segregation of Schools (Again!)

| | Comments: (0)
"We are sleepwalking our way to segregation." said by Trevor Phillips. Study shows that most severe segregation in public schools is in the Western states, including California—not in the South. Segregation today is as bad if not worse as it was in the 1950's. The split up between Blacks and Latinos against Whites is ridiculous considering the time period. The Civil Rights Movement was over five decades ago. People say history repeats itself. However, when it effects the everyday learning of our children over an issue that should have been resolved over five decades ago, thats when you have to look at where the priorities are of the "head people in charge"
Black or Latinos are being segregated to low scoring schools while Whites get to go to higher performing schools. In Charlotte, N.C, White families are moving to suburban areas so that they can send their kids to the "higher achieving" schools, leaving the Black and Latino families in the urban areas to send their kids to the urban schools. They [the White families] partake in a "Choice" program to ensure that their kids get into programs right away. However, in certain situations, I think Blacks and Latinos enjoy being separated. When a Black or Latino family has a child that shows a true interest in learning and their education, where do they send them. To a "White school". So, in reality, can we get mad when a White family does it to? "Segregation was wrong when it was forced by white people, and I believe it us still wrong when it is requested by black people" said by Coretta Scott King.
In conclusion, segregation in schools is something that is still happening today and something that will most likely be on going. Segregation can probably be found in various other places, but no one pays attention to it. In a way, no matter where you go to school you can still be success. On the same token, schools do matter. However, race shouldn't.

How To Loose A Guy In 10 Texts ( for girls )

| | Comments: (3)
Now, I am what society might call a "text-a-holic". So I pretty much know what I'm talking about when I say that guys pretty much suck when it comes to texting. One minute, you can be the most interesting person to text in his phone book, then the next it will seem as if maybe he deleted you number. Food for thought before I give my tips: Never, ever, only text just one guy. When he stop texting you for good, it will be the most boring thing ever. Believe me.

The first, and obviously the most important thing, that you will need is a phone and the guys of your dreams phone number. The one thing that I will recommend is unlimited texting. This process may get a little long, lengthy, and even costly!

1.) Analyze all texts - This may include forwarding some to your best friend for her opinion before you respond. Consider deeply what it is you want to say next. Don't, think or even reply back to quickly. If anything, keep him waiting.

2.) Increase your text speed - At this point in time this may even consist of responding without even considering what he said or what you really want to say. You just want to hurry up and text him back so you can hurry up and text him back.

3.) Spill your heart out - You get that feeling where because you guys are texting, he has the right to know everything about you! Which may be semi true. However, at the time it feels right. So go for it!

4.) Figure out where you stand with him - There is nothing worse than really liking a guy, thinking in your head that you two are dating, then come to find out he is on a totally different page. To avoid all of this, figure out where he stands. So at least you have an idea about what is going. We have to remember ladies, boys are terrible liars. So no matter what he says, you may not get the entire truth.

5.) React quickly - As with anybody, if he just doesn't text you back, you may feel as though he is trying to ignore you when really he is just busy. However, react on your feeling, not the truth. Text him back UNTIL he texts you back. And remember, anyone who says that he is probably just busy, is just trying to protect your feelings.

6. )Text him constantly - this goes hand and hand with tip # 5. Eventually he will have to text you back. Even if it is just to please you. So please, remember the goal at hand. And remember that it doesn't benefit him!

7.) Congratulations - You have successful ran your " boy toy " away. What do you do now? Find another one to play with. At the end of the day boys play girls. So why can't we play them? Life's to short. So text away!

Top 10 Most Annoying T.V Shows

| | Comments: (2)
10. Jack A$$- This show is completely annoying. A whole bunch of no life guys pulling pranks that "you shouldn't do at home" isn't entertaining. I would bet my last $10 that they have stunt doubles.

9. Glee - This show has no purpose at all! Is it suppose to be like High School Musical or something? FAIL!!

8. The Fabulous Life Of.....- This is the most depressing show. We all know they are celebrities. We don't need a television series to show us how rich they are!

7. The Real World- After a while, this show become purposeless. Every show now a days is a reality series. So now, The Real World is honestly not even needed.

6. Birth Day- At the end of the day, no one in labor wants a camera in their face. And although mothers/families are happy to have a new baby, I doubt its that important to them to have a camera crew follow them!

5. Taking The Stage- No matter what anyone has to say, this show is very much scripted. You can tell just by the camera shots. Season 1: Understandable. Season 2: Repetitive. Didn't we already have a show about kids who are overly talented and conceited, and wasn't that like 20 years ago with Fame. Sometimes, history shouldn't repeat itself.

4. Bones- This show should be the number one most annoying, but I am saving something for that. This is like a fake Cold Case. A guy and a girl who work together, secretly like each other, but won't tell each other isn't at all entertaining. It's rather annoying. Which is exactly why it made it on this list.

3. The Young and the Restless- This show has been on the air way to long! Its the same thing over and over again, and makes no sense. A baby that was born on Monday's episode, will be 4 years old by Friday's episode. And yes, maybe I am overreacting, but that is exactly what it seems like in my head.

2. America's Next Top Model - There is absolutely no reason to keep this show on the air. Its the same thing every season. Choose 12 girls. Give them a makeover. 2 or 3 girls who will cry because they had to get their hair cut. A Prime Diva will be distinguished. Competition goes on. Girls get eliminated. Then at the end, the person you don't want to win, ends up winning. Pointless, right?

1. Jersey Shore - Now this show takes the cake for annoyance. First of all, its nothing but 8 italians fist pumping every night and getting kicked out of clubs. Typical reality show. Has to be the most racist thing I ever seen. Plus, why
do the same people get to come back for a second season. What fun is that? To the producers: if you are going to create
a show that is just like the ones to come before it, do it all the way! And that includes changing up the stars! $10,000 and episode? Who wouldn't come back for a second season?

Please Stop. I Hate That!!

I do not like religious people! I hate feeling like I should be punished because I don't go to church every Sunday (or Saturday). How holy is it to belittle someone because they don't do something that you do, and then don't feel bad for thinking that's okay. If you go to church or not does not show that you believe in God. Its suppose to be a personal thing. Not an event.
I hate boys! They are liars, cheaters, and they don't know what they want. So instead they lead girls on, knowing girls fall for boys easily, and then just drop their feelings, if they even had any to begin with.
I love texting, but I absolutely HATE when people don'y reply to my text messages. Everyone is busy and I understand that better than the next person. However, I am busy too. So if I take time out of my schedule to text you, don't make me feel like I am a stalker by not texting back. It makes me feel unimportant. Like before you were only texting back to please me, and then somewhere in the game texting me back became tedious. I know I am more important than that, thank you!
I hate the fact that everyone is talking about this Haiti accident. I understand people lost their homes, and lost their lives for that matter. However, what about the people who don't even have homes. That never seems like a priorityl. Hurricane Katrina was such a big issue, however it took them almost three days to bring water to the survivors!
People who decide that even though I have my headphones on I can still hear them aggravate me. Obviously my headphones are in to tune you out. That's kind of hard when every minute I have to take them out to listen to the annoying things that say. Its called repect for my music people!
I think it so stupid that people think that I am selfish because I don't want children when I grow up. Come on now, its my own opinion. How would you like it if I said only naiive people want kids when they grow up? I know what I want for my future and it just doesn't include kids. Wouldn't selfish be if I had kids and didn't care for them? Let's get our facts straight before we point the finger.
People who think they are three times their age are fine. Just don't think I will tolerate it. I'm an Aquarius, and as everyone knows we are ticking time bombs. Yes I do believe in Astrology. So I will be fine for a couple of minutes. Don't underestimate my ability to get crazy when I have to!
Those who say respect your parents first have no idea how to defend themselves. Parents are regular people too. Sometimes they deserve to be told about themselves, to a certain extent of course. Anger is anger. I can't and won't bite my tongue for the saying "I bought you into this world and I can take you out."
Adults who complain about our [teenagers] generation forget who raised it! They don't listen to "our" music. So they wouldn't understand why we like it. Just because music went from being about love to how much money you have doesn't mean it is any less enjoyable. And just because I listen to it doesn't mean that's how I will turn out. I do have a mind of my own. Whatever teenager lets lyrics of a song that the artist probably didn't even write him or herself effect how they act has nothing to do with the song itself. Its a personal problem.

And for those who don't agree with me, its just a blog. Don't get to worked up over it!

Bad Girls Club

| | Comments: (1)

The show, Bad Girls Club, is my all time favorite television series! It embraces the true "bad girl" in every girl who watches it. When certain situations arise where you feel like only you would get mad at it, there is a girl who is casted on this show that will most likely get mad at that same thing too. The producers of The Real World also produced this show. The concept is pretty much the same. Except for the fact that it is all girls. The seven girls, which are chosen to live in a L.A mansion, have to live together for two months and hopefully get along. However, as with every bad girl, this is impossible. Attitudes get in the way and everyone wants to be the leader, and as everyone knows, there is only room for one real leader. This show has to be the biggest hit on the entire Oxygen network with each of its four and continuing seasons.
The good thing about this show is that it is extremely entertaining. The fist fighting, arguing, drinking, and many many boys who come in and out of the mansion, is fun to watch and will most likely keep you laughing. Your jaw will drop when the attitudes start to fling. Every girl is "queen bee" in their own hometowns and dominated group of friends. So when every "queen bee" comes together, everything cannot remain copacetic. The power of friendship also seems to be an importance in this show as well. Every girl makes friends and eventually decides if that person stabbed them or patted them on the back.
The one biggest flaw of the series is that even in its fourth season, it isn't as interesting as it was in it's second. The drama and conflict is visually different, but mentally seems the same, just with different girls. Another flaw is that you have to battle the thought, "Is this show scripted?" With girls as bad as Tiffany Gibson-Davis (Season 2) and Tanisha Thomas (Season 3), it might make you wonder if they really act like that at home. Even with that though, it will still keep you watching and still keep you wanting more. That is, only if you are truly a "bad girl".

A Little Something To Start With!

My birthday was on Sunday! It meant so much to me because I was finally 15. The age 15 always meant like an official teenager to me! Like to finally be in the "loop". My party is on Saturday, January 30th, at a hotel with all my closet friends. I love them! We are going to have so much fun laughing, talking, joking and eating. Especially since we are all crazy! Then the next day, January 31st, we are going to Friendly's. Which will be hilarious because I love Friendly's. Plus, there will be about 15 of us all at one table. One word= TROUBLE!!!!. (lol)
